摘要: Carrier-grade network management was optimized for environments built with monolithic physical nodes and involves significant deployment, integration maintenance efforts from service providers. The introduction of virtualization technologies, the physical layer all way up to application layer, however, invalidates several well-established assumptions in this domain. This draft opens the discussion NFVRG about challenges related transforming the telecom infrastructure into an agile, model-driven production environment communication services. We take inspiration data center DevOps regarding how simplify automate management processes a telecom provider software-defined infrastructure (SDI). Among identified challenges, we consider scalability observability processes automated inference of monitoring requirements logical forwarding graphs, as well as initial placement (and re-placement) monitoring functionality following changes flow paths enforced by controllers.
