摘要: Salmonella typhimurium (ST) can cause infection in man, and attenuated strains are under consideration as live vaccine vectors. However, little is known about the interaction of ST with human dendritic cells (DC). Here, we compared consequences exposure human, monocyte-derived DC different ST. Infection was observed all four tested (wild type, PhoP-, PhoPc, AroA), but PhoPc strain by far most efficient. Intracellular persistence wild type PhoP- longer than that AroA, both which were largely eliminated within 24 h. Most survived strains, although apoptosis a fraction exposed cells. All induced maturation, independent from extent infection. Although stimulated secretion TNF-alpha IL-12 strongly, significantly less IL-10 other three much 10 times heat-killed suggesting this mutant suppressed DC. These data indicate infectivity, bacterial elimination, cytokine controlled genetic background
