摘要: We stained sarcomere thin filaments with fluorescently labeled phalloidin, measured and muscle length, calculated number in pyloric gastric mill muscles. A wide range of lengths (3.25-12.29 microm), (5.9-21.1 mm), numbers (648-3,036) were observed. Sarcomere differences occurred both because changes length varied independently. This independence, the present, muscles being all 'slow', graded allowed us to use these data test Huxley Neidergerke's (1954) hypothesis that dynamics depend on number. The time constants exponential fits contraction relaxations used measure dynamics, comparison theoretical predictions experimental results quantitatively confirm predicted dependence. differing various are likely functionally important, dependence implies is closely regulated stomatogastric system may thus be an excellent model for studying mechanisms regulating
