摘要: Puumala virus, the causative agent of nephropathia epidemica (NE), occurs endemically in Europe and is spread mainly by bank vole (Clethrionomys glareolus). In vicinity each four households afflicted with NE, we studied rodents regard to population density prevalence virus-specific antibodies. For case area, a control area was randomly selected 10 km away, without presence human settlement. During 6,000 trap nights, 328 were caught, which 299 C. glareolus. The mean rodent densities areas 6.6 3.7 animals per 100 nights (P < 0.001). serum antibodies 15.9% compared 5.6% 0.05). three areas, where NE had occurred 3-10 weeks before trapping, seroprevalence much higher than fourth 38 trapping. conclusion, glareolus seropositive for virus more frequently near away.
