摘要: Abstract Objectives: A substantial amount of Montserrat volcanic ash, containing up to 24% cristobalite (w/w), a fibrogenic crystalline silica, has been generated since the first documented eruption in 1995. The bioreactivity ash and its two major components: anorthite have studied vivo for year following intratracheal instillation into rats. Methods: rats ( n =5) were instilled with sterile vehicle solution (0.15 M NaCl) and/or three doses (1.0, 2.5 or 5.0 mg) each dust, sacrificed at 13, 25 49 weeks post-instillation quantitative biochemical histopathological analyses lung lymph nodes. Results: Cristobalite caused inflammation granuloma hilar nodes associated significant size augmentation 13 P Conclusion: produces inflammatory reactions These effects are seen much earlier than any reaction lung. onset is delayed until post-exposure. Despite high content there no evidence responses.
