Improving the anti-corrosion properties via surface modification for silicon dioxide by conductive polymer

摘要: The modification of silicon dioxide surface via polyaniline (PANI) prepared by in-situ polymerization method. PANI and PANI-SiO2 were characterized using Fourier transform infrared; X-ray diffraction digital multimeter was used to measure conductivities for samples. Morphology the synthesized PANI-SiO2, examined scanning electron microscopy. Samples then as pigments through blended with acrylic paint applied on carbon steel panels. Corrosion evaluated coating panels through; full immersion test, salt spray test adhesion up standards; ASTMG 31, ASTM B117 D3359 respectively. rate calculated after finished exposed periods in acidic Medias. Digital camera also monitored corrosion visually specimens. results revealed that pigmented SiO2 modified polyaniline, more efficiently protection than each SiO2.
