摘要: Background The purpose of this in vitrostudy was to evaluate the retention and resistance form complete coverage restorations supported by two different cast post core designs. Material methods Forty extracted maxillary central incisors were randomly divided into four groups 10 specimens each (namely A, B, C D). All endodontically treated a uniform space 9mm created. prepared teeth had 360o chamfer ferrule 2mm axial height measured 0.5mm coronally from cementoenamel junction (CEJ) an wall thickness 1.5 mm. Specimens A received cores with standardized design, where ended at coronal part ferrule, while B D that encircling ferrule. Cemented underwent tensile load stress, compressive stress until failure. Results Teeth group exhibited mean failure 326.14±83.67 N under tension, 332.79±80.38 (p=0.858). recorded 1042.81±205.07 N, 875.15±167.64 (p=0.061) compression registered. Conclusions standard design 2 mm offers superior resistance, although not statistically significant (p=0.061), when compared Both designs offer equal retention. However, modes decementation noted.
