摘要: The Internet of Things is emerging as more wireless sensor networks get deployed every day, pushing decision making and processing towards the edge onto constrained devices. In these networks, using a single packet to transmit small sensed data an inefficient use both bandwidth energy. Aggregating multiple measurements packets into increases efficiency resource utilization, but it also introduces problem deciding when aggregated data. this work, we show theoretically that classical performance metrics energy consumption expiration rate create balanced tradeoff, where their combined metric per non-expired measurement constant, independent policy selection. We introduce new metric, information freshness, derive optimal maximize under hop multi-hop cases. provide distributed algorithm implement our policy. Our case studies outperforms state-of-the-art policies by than 3.3x for freshness reduces 62%.
