摘要: The most recent extensive phylogenetic tree of the methanogenic bacteria presented relationship twenty two species and was derived from comparison 16S ribosomal RNA oligonucleotide catalogs (Whitman, W. B., 1985, Methanogenic bacteria, in Bacteria, vol. 8, Archaebacteria, C. R. Woese R.S. Wolfe ed., Academic Press, Inc., New York). This work has been expanded here. complete sequence obtained for nine a new derived. overall structure is conserved. However since sequences distinguishes between fast slow evolving organisms, additional information can be obtained. hierarchy branching shows that Methanococcaceae family deepest branching, followed by Methanobacteriaceae, Methanomicrobiaceae Methanosarcinaceae. It appears groups more recently (Methanomicrobiaceae Methanosarcinaceae) have evolved relatively faster than Methanobacteriaceae observation matches increase structural metabolic diversity observed to Also, extreme thermophilicity, characteristic assumed ancestral shared with all sulfur-dependent only found among Methanobacteriaceae.
