摘要: The morphology of leaf venation has been studied repeatedly and various systems have proposed for the classification observed patterns. Almost nothing is known, however, about functional properties types. Using a computer modelling approach we analysed water transport typical craspedodromous brochidodromous through veins was modelled as fluid flow porous medium mathematical model solved with Finite Element Method. simulations illustrate that margin represents critical region in terms supply. results provide plausible explanation three well known phenomena: 1) correlation between formation teeth; 2) fact more common temperate than tropical regions 3) xeromorphic leaves tend to closed venation.
