摘要: This work investigates the enforcement of continuity constraints on stair-step grids which are specialized for simulations in geosciences. They rectilinear horizontal directions but locally discontinuous (i.e., nonconforming) vertical direction. Furthermore, they allow (partly) collapsed elements order to model pinched-out layers. A robust and efficient algorithm enforcing is proposed tailored special properties grids. number two- three-dimensional finite element method (FEM) conducted. Thereby, Lagrange multiplier penalty with different ansatz spaces studied pointwise averaged constraints. particulary useful choice continuous parameters that depend size.
