摘要: We used simultaneous multi-site neural ensemble recordings to investigate the representation of tactile information in three areas primate somatosensory cortex (areas 3b, SII and 2). Small ensembles (30–40 neurons) broadly tuned neurons were able identify correctly location a single stimulus on trial, almost simultaneously. Furthermore, each these cortical could use different combinations encoding strategies, such as mean firing rate 3b 2) or temporal patterns (area SII), represent stimulus. Based results, we propose that neurons, located distinct cortex, obtain about concurrently.
