Subsurface Pressure Profiles in Gas-Saturated Basins

摘要: Basins which have gas-saturated sections exhibit a characteristic pressure profile. They may be subnormally or supernormally pressured, but never normally pressured. The profile of numerous in North America has been documented by constructing pressure-depth plots. approach here is descriptive. Interpretation the data not yet yielded unique solution. Examples gas saturation pressured Upper and Lower Cretaceous rocks Alberta, Canada, Silurian eastern Ohio, U.S.A., Tertiary Wyoming, are presented. These plots should help identify similar other petroleum provinces.
