摘要: A review is given in the paper for solidification researches with transparent model materials. The effective experimental method was first proposed by Jackson and Hunt 1965. materials are a kind of non-faceted crystals known as “plastic crystals” or “globular molecules”, which have very low entropy melting that metals. According to Jackson’s theory 1958, phase transformation will determine whether interface morphology smooth rough atomic scale, lead faceted nonfacted microscopic macroscopic scales. Succinonitrile (SCN) its alloys water, ethanol, acetone, NH4Cl-H2O solution most commonly used dendritic growth, anisotropy solid-liquid interfacial energy, crystal nucleation, grain formation, directional solidification, eutectic peritectic defects formation such bubble, hot tearing, etc. Among these researches, impressive work critical test growth theories high purity succinonitrile Glicksman et al., gave positive answer Ivantsov’s analysis negative ad hoc condition maximum velocity hypothesis. future could be suggested three aspects: 1) accurate measurement material properties alloy diagrams more plastic crystals, especially find alloys; 2) boundary groove shape obtain precise data parameters free energy materials; 3) get clear pictures processes details relatively large area, continuous movement liquid particles, order give support numerical simulations aimming at description microstructure during multicomponent under complex conditions real casting welding processes.
