摘要: The triggering and guiding of negative discharges using filaments induced by a femtosecond-terawatt laser pulse have been studied in sphere-plane gaps up to 4.5 meters. Fast-frame camera pictures allow the evaluation influence leader propagation on process. We show that plasma channel can either trigger space-leader discharge or act as path for head. For latter case results suggest linear dependence guided lengths 2.4 m, while formation reduces this length 50%. This effect is explained limited lifetime filament measured be about 1 μs.
