Anodic stripping voltammetry of copper at insonated glassy carbon-based electrodes: application to the determination of copper in beer

摘要: The suitability of ultrasound-assisted anodic stripping voltammetry (sono-ASV) for the detection total copper content in beer using both mercury thin film and glassy carbon electrodes has been investigated. An immersion horn probe is introduced into a small thermostatted conventional three electrode cell (20 cm3) opposite working electrode: an ex situ plated Nafion®-coated or bare electrode. Minimal sample pre-treatment required which consists acidification with dilute nitric acid out-gassing argon. After deposition (as metal its amalgam) on presence ultrasound, square wave scan employed to get analytical signal. In absence passivation by organic species lower rates mass transport prevent observation any measurable signals. cavitational cleaning insonation maintains activity. Total levels range 100 300 µg Cu L–1 were determined sono-ASV substrates showed excellent agreement values provided independent method. This highlights validity method as useful electroanalytical technique hostile media.
