Latency of herpes simplex virus in absence of neutralizing antibody: model for reactivation.

摘要: Mice inoculated with herpes simplex virus (type 1) by the lip or corneal route and then passively immunized rabbit antibody to developed a latent infection in trigeminal ganglia within 96 hours. Neutralizing was cleared from circulation could not be detected most of these mice after 2 months. Examination antibody-negative revealed over 90 percent animals, indicating that serum neutralizing is necessary maintain state. When lips corneas were traumatized, viral reactivation occurred up mice, as demonstrated appearance antibody. This study provides model for identifying factors trigger reactivation.
