摘要: The amphibian fauna of the Kingdom Morocco was traditionally regarded as poor and closely related to its European counterpart. However, an increase in research during last decades revealed a considerable degree endemism amongst Moroccan amphibians, well phenotypic genotypic inter- intraspecific divergence. Despite this knowledge, comprehensible overview is lacking while several systematic issues have remained unresolved. We herein present contemporary distribution, taxonomy biogeography amphibians. Fourteen fieldtrips were made by authors colleagues between 2000 2012, which produced total 292 new distribution records. Furthermore, based on results work, we (i) review systematics genus Salamandra Morocco, including description subspecies from Rif- Middle Atlas Mountains, algira splendens ssp. nov.; (ii) data morphological variability Pelobates varaldiiand Pleurodeles waltl Morocco; (iii) attempt resolve phylogenetic position Bufo brongersmai erect for species, Barbarophryne gen. (iv) summarize assess availability tadpole-specific characteristics bioacoustical data, (v) natural history data.
