摘要: Today, the shortage of organ donors is a major limiting factor to transplantation. In 1999 in USA, 72,110 patients were waiting for an transplant, while only 21,516 (16,862 cadaveric and 4,714 living) donor organs became available same year [1]. This results increasing times requiring kidney transplantation mortality greater than 10 percent per heart or liver For children, availability even more marked. These limitations, which show no immediate signs being resolved, have increased interest use xenogeneic organs. Xenotransplantation offers unlimited source cells, opportunity surgical procedure be performed on elective basis ability extend indications
