摘要: Abstract The reduction at 555 K of oxidized Pt/Fe(100) surfaces by H 2 has been studied using ellipsometry and Auger electron spectroscopy in combination with Ar + ion bombardment. considered here were first covered Pt (0−1.1 monolayer) then up to different oxygen uptakes. It is found that the initial rate which removed hydrogen strongly decreases oxide thickness coverage. If uptake exceeds 7 × 10 15 atoms/cm , cannot be reduced. After deposition about 0.5 monolayer on top such an layer, exposure results a same as far thin layers. concluded can only reduced if metallic atoms are available surface.
