Effects of Chitosan Oligosaccharide Supplementation on Blood Glucose, Lipid Components and Enzyme Activities in Hyperglycemic Rats

摘要: Abstract The principal objective of this study was to assess the effects chitosan oligosaccharide supplementation on improve-ment blood glucose, lipid components and enzyme activities in serum streptozotocin(STZ, 55 ㎎/㎏ B.W., I.P. injection)-induced hyperglycemic rats fed experimental diets for 5 weeks. concentrations total cholesterol, atherosclerotic index, LDL, LDL-cholesterol, free cholesteryl ester ratio, triglycerides(TG) phospholipids(PL) were remarkably higher group(group BSW) STZ(I.P.)+chitosan ECW) than those control BW, basal diet+water). However TG PL lower ECW group BSW group, whereas ratio HDL-cholesterol concentration cholesterol group. alkaline phosphatase(ALP) aminotransferase(AST, ALT) results shown above suggested that effectively improves composition sera STZ-induced rats.
