摘要: Mediastinitis after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) gives a longstanding chronic inflammation and has detrimental negative effect on long-term survival. For this reason, we aimed to study the of mediastinitis graft patency CABG. The epidemiologic design was an exposed (mediastinitis, n = 41) versus non-exposed (non-mediastinitis, controls, cohort with two endpoints: (i) obstruction saphenous vein grafts (SVG) (ii) internal mammary (IMA) grafts. evaluated CT-angiography examination at median follow-up 2·7 years. number occluded SVG in group 18·9% 15·5% control group. Using generalized estimating equations model exchangeable matrix, confounding ischaemic time patients age, found no significant association between presence [rate ratio (RR) 0·96, 95% CI (0·52-2·67), P 0·697]. IMA 10·5% 2·4% Poisson regression model, estimated RR 5·48, (1·43-21·0) 0·013. There obstruction, when controlling for time, body mass index, diabetes mellitus diseased vessels. Presence increases risk obstruction. This may confirm importance as major contributor pathogenesis atherosclerosis explain
