Catalysis by sulfides: Advanced IR/CO spectroscopy for the identification of the most active sites in hydrodesulfurization reactions

摘要: Abstract Sulfided CoMo supported on TiO2, Al2O3, or SiO2 was studied by CO adsorption followed infrared spectroscopy (IR/CO). The inversion of isotherms obtained IR (the 2D-IRIS method) performed promoted and nonpromoted catalysts to verify that ν(CO) vibration contributions from 2090 2000 cm−1 can be attributed CO/CoMoS interactions, free the contribution coming CO/nonpromoted S-edges MoS2 nanoparticles. second derivative spectra evidences presence three different sites. Promotion in situ chemical vapor deposition makes it possible ascribe ν(CO/CoMoS) partially totally M-edges (2072–2074 cm−1, 2082–2085 cm−1) (2054–2057 cm−1). Then IR/CO method highlights Co promotion both edges S-edge M-edge) slabs. hydrodesulfurization activity these shows total concentration sites is an important but not unique factor, since structures CoMoS modify their intrinsic activity. A parallel with site amounts reveals M-edge CoMo-supported are most active for hydrodesulfurization. This a direct way account types catalysts.
