Duplex ultrasonography in diagnosis of spigelian hernia with incarcerated jejunal loop.

摘要: Abstract Spigelian hernia is a very rare anterior abdominal wall with uncharacteristic symptoms and challenging diagnosis. The case of 76-year-old male patient colicky pain vomiting lasting for 24 hours before admission to the hospital presented. Physical examination revealed tenderness round-shaped tumefaction 3 cm in size, located left lower quadrant. X-ray abdomen, obtained lateral position patient, showed small bowel ileus distended jejunal loops. ultrasound examination, followed by duplex ultrasonography, spigelian ischemic changes strangulated segment indicating incarceration herniated loop. Preoperative findings were confirmed intraoperative diagnosis incarcerated loop deserosation, resection involved plastic surgical reconstruction wall. This report highlights role ultrasonography evaluation circulatory status potentially within hernial sac.
