摘要: Abstract Crude oil-amended microcosms were prepared with inocula from eleven anoxic environments (4 river sediments, 3 lake and 4 sludges wastewater treatment reactors) to determine their ability produce methane the biodegradation of crude oil. Over incubation periods up 1150 days, oil-stimulated methanogenesis concomitant loss alkanes occurred in five whereas six did not show production. Bacterial archaeal communities exhibiting high levels distinct where methanogenic oil degradation was detected. Successional changes consistent quantitative enrichment syntrophic hydrocarbon degrading bacteria methanogens over time. In conclusion, oil-impacted oil-degrading microbial consortia are present relatively low abundance exhibit slow growth, while they may be ubiquitously distributed at sufficiently
