摘要: A study to determine the prevalence of loaisis was carried out in Edo State, Nigeria for a period one year beginning from February 1999 January 2000. total thirteen thousand, two hundred samples were examined. Nine (0.07%) positive Loa loa. The parasite had limited distribution State. It observed only six local government areas namely Uhunmwode, Ikpoba Okha, Igueben, Etsako East, Akoko-Edo and Owan East. pattern infection various age groups showed clearly that maximum exposure occurred third fifth decade life. All males. higher during rainy (wet) season than dry season. inaccessibility arthropod vector humans could be advanced low disease state. socio-cultural economic factors, which predisposed infection, discussed as part control measures.
