摘要: Effective strategies are needed to help individuals lose weight and maintain loss. The primary aim of this study was investigate the effect intermittent energy restriction (IER) compared continuous (CER) on loss after 8 weeks maintenance 12 months. Secondary aims were determine changes in waist hip measurements diet quality. In a randomized parallel study, overweight obese (body mass index [BMI] ≥ 27 kg m(-2)) women stratified by age BMI before randomization. Participants undertook an 8-week intensive period with weight, circumference measured every 2 weeks, followed 44 independent dieting. A food frequency questionnaire completed at baseline months, from which quality determined. Weight not significantly different between two groups (-3.2 ± 2.1 CER, n = 20, -2.0 1.9 IER, 25; P 0.06) or months (-4.2 5.6 17 -2.1 3.8 19; 0.19). 52 -0.7 49 CER vs. -1 1.1 IER; 0.6. Waist decreased time (P < 0.01), no difference groups. There increase Healthy Eating Index IER group (CER 8.4 9.1 -0.3 8.4, 0.006). This indicates that dieting as effective over for may be useful who find too difficult maintain.
