摘要: Of the many proposals to date for laser-assisted isotope separation methods, isotope-selective infrared (IR) multiphoton dissociation (MPD) of molecules has been most fully developed. This concept served as basis development and operation carbon facility in Kaliningrad, Russia. The extension this method heavy elements, including uranium, is hindered by, among other factors, high power consumption lack high-efficiency high-power laser systems. In connection, research covering low energy methods isotopes (including those atoms) currently demand. paper reviews approaches realization IR-laser-induced processes, some which are potentially on low-energy molecular can be basic physics chemistry, application potential, strengths weaknesses these discussed. Potentially promising alternatives title examined.
