摘要: This study examined the neural mechanism underlying two translation strategies associated with Chinese to English simultaneous interpreting (SI) targeting left prefrontal cortex (PFC), which is generally involved in control of interference and conflict resolution has been identified as brain area that plays a pivotal role SI. Brain activation including “pairing” “transphrasing” were compared from “nontranslation,” keeps source language item unchanged target production considered tactic does not require complex cognitive operation bilingual processing effort. Our findings revealed elicited strongest almost immediate Broca’s area, resulted most extensive overall PFC. By contrast, “nontranslation” induced very little these regions. work, represents one first efforts investigating related involving different levels control, will only pave new avenue for better understanding SI but also provide further insight into region domain-general control.
