摘要: During S-phase of the cell cycle, chromosomal DNA is replicated according to a complex replication timing program, with megabase-sized domains replicating at different times. fiber analysis reveals that clusters adjacent origins fire near-synchronously. Analysis cells by light microscopy shows synthesis occurs in discrete foci or factories. The relationship between domains, origin and currently unclear. Recent work, using hybrid Xenopus/hamster system, has shown when CDK levels are manipulated during activation factories can be uncoupled from progression through program. Here, we use data this system investigate potential relationships foci. We suggest each domain typically comprises several replicon clusters, which usually processed sequentially discuss how might regulated create organization involvement CDKs process.
