Background Laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) is taking the place of an effective and tested procedure in surgery, therefore it must not be inferior to standard modality any aspect. Some complications specific technique, however, are severe complication rate higher than open surgery. Methods In this paper authors report their guiding principles applying LC methods treatment, describe 2100 LCs accomplished during past 3.5 years. Results The occurrence certain (secondary hemorrhage, bowel injury, wound infection, incisional hernia) was limited 1–2 cases. Other deserve special attention. Among patients we cared for, biliary fistula occurred 1.7%, ductal lesion 0.8%, residual stones 0.52%, mortality 0.19%. Following 13 cases, 6 strictures were manifested. various these lesions account for death 2 patients. Conclusions disclosure related justified by absence established standards long-term results. Ductal injuries most dangerous because, even with a successful corrective they may lead lasting damage.
