Telehealth : 'real life' implementation issues

摘要: Abstract This paper addresses the practical issues specific to successful integration of telehealth into Canadian health system at national, regional, provincial and territorial levels. Five key for optimal implementation were readiness environment; needs analysis/strategic business plans/diverse partnerships; equipment Information Technology (IT) vendors; staged implementation; evaluation. Strong professional, as well technical policy standards, also required. Recognizing importance human factors workforce implications, change process, changing culture viewed critical implementation. The ‘best practices’, ‘lessons learned’, ‘buy-in’, inter-connectivity, inter-operability, sustainability was noted. Lastly, ongoing systemic evaluation seen be sustained programs.
