摘要: Abstract Sediment cores were collected from five coastal wetlands in England, the Netherlands, and Poland, samples analysed for heavy metal concentrations. Depth profiles of concentrations converted to time-based profiles, using vertical accretion rates obtained 137 Cs dating. Chronologies two (high low marsh) at each site showed good agreement, indicating that sediment represent historical inputs metals. some areas are highly polluted, with peak up times greater than oldest (1890s 1900s). indicated different pollution histories areas. Local hydrology appeared be important affecting accumulation. Metal have recently decreased St. Annaland Marsh (the Netherlands) Stiffkey (UK). Levels metals Oder River remained high throughout upper part cores.
