摘要: Clinical function and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) are both important outcome parameters following surgery for oral oropharyngeal cancer. The aim this project was to explore the relationship between an 11-point clinical examination HRQoL. Of 132 consecutive patients undergoing previously untreated disease January 1995 June 1997, 130 were recruited into study. University Washington Quality Life Questionnaire (UW-QoL) completed by each patient on day before operation 6 12 months later. On occasion first author made examination. main predictors cumulative UW-QoL scores tumour size, functional score type operation. trend a fall from preoperative levels at then slight improvement 1 year. differential in respect baseline present all three time points group. This suggests that deficits presentation persist treatment.
