摘要: Publisher Summary A variety of methods for the remediation both solid and liquid media such as water, groundwater, industrial wastewaters, soils, sediments, sludges is known. This chapter provides a general overview over different technologies by dividing them into three major categories: first, physical soil washing, encapsulation, or electrokinesis; second chemical solidification, precipitation, ion exchange; third, biological that use plants to remove heavy metals. Innovative approaches passive treatment groundwater contaminations have been developed. The introduces various technologies. Physical techniques include vitrification, encapsulation contaminated areas impermeable vertical horizontal layers, electrokinesis, permeable barrier systems. Encapsulation commonly used containment pollution prevention. Most these adapted in field environmental engineering from water-tight construction pits.
