摘要: Background The only way to diagnose nodular regenerative hyperplasia (NRH) is liver biopsy. Aim To evaluate in a prospective study the performance of noninvasive investigations patients with NRH. Methods All consecutive NRH who were being followed up our unit from 2004 2007 included. biopsy specimens reanalysed independently confirm diagnosis (classified as certain or probable) and assess portal sinusoidal associated fibrosis. had stiffness (using FibroScan) FibroTest measurements. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was performed using two contrast agents (gadolinium-chelate ferucarbotran). Results Thirty included (mean age: 53 years). Median value 7.9 kPa (range: 3.5-16.8), 63% having more than 7.1 kPa. No relationship found between without hypertension Fibrotest. correlation and/or In studied MRI, 55% 9% diffuse fine-nodular loss iron uptake after ferucarbotran injection. Conclusion Liver values may be increased patients, no Contrast-enhanced MRI disappointing
