摘要: Food consumption and growth rates of 7–28-day-old Menidia beryllina were measured in response to natural ranges temperature prey availability. Feeding level, age all had significant effects on rate, although the effect feeding level explained most variance. also a gross efficiency, but did not. Absolute (mg per day) increased dramatically with temperature, age. Variability was greatest for fish at lowest level. For given weight, positive maximum (Cmax) any treatment combination reached 75% body weight day. Maximum rate estimated 24.6% day, efficiency an 0.375 ingestion 25% Starved larvae lost average 5.4% day required 6.4% food maintenance. Multiple regressions age/size instantaneous indicated that increases maintenance requirements consume greater proportion Cmax attain growth. Growth decreased eating specific food.
