Pharmacological approaches in the treatment of binge eating disorder.

摘要: Binge eating disorder (BED) is a newly defined diagnostic category characterized by recurrent episodes of binge not followed the inappropriate compensatory weight loss behaviors characteristic bulimia nervosa. BED usually associated with overweight or obesity and psychopathology. Pharmacotherapy may be useful component multidimensional treatment approach. Although pharmacotherapy research in still its preliminary stages, some drugs have been shown to promising agents. This paper reviews available pharmacological studies related conditions. Currently, three main classes studied double-blind, placebo controlled trials BED: antidepressants, anti-obesity agents, anticonvulsants. Serotonin selective reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) are best medications. Thus, fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, sertraline citalopram modestly but significantly reduce frequency body over short term. More recently, agent sibutramine anticonvulsant topiramate behavior obesity. Special issues concerning current future directions this area also discussed.
