摘要: Abstract GFP-like proteins, originally cloned from marine animals, are genetically encoded fluorescence markers that have become indispensable tools for the life sciences. The search GFP-like proteins with novel and improved properties is ongoing, driven by persistent need advanced specialized labels cellular imaging. 3D structures of these overall similar. However, considerable variations been found in covalent stereochemistry chromophore, which govern essential optical such as absorption/emission wavelengths. A detailed understanding structure dynamics greatly aids rational engineering marker proteins. In this chapter, we summarize present knowledge structural diversity discuss how their properties.
