Compatibility and Tensile Properties of PPO Blends

摘要: Young’s modulus, yield (break) strength, and elongation to have been measured for blends of poly (2,6-dimethyl-1, 4-phenylene oxide) (PPO) with polystyrene (PS), (p-chlorostyrene)(PpC1S), random copolymers styrene p-chlorostyrene)(pC1S). The significant difference between blend compositions is the compatibility PPO each polymer. Blends PS or 67.1 mole % less pC1S are compatible (i.e. one Tg) show small synergistic maxima in as a function composition. These correspond observed packing density result specific interactions contributing compatibility. A rule mixture phase systems an adjustable parameter gives adequate fit composition dependence modulus.
