Interaction of charged particles with surface plasmons in cylindrical channels in solids

摘要: The interaction between swift charged particles and the electronic surface modes of a cylindrical cavity is described according to classical quantum-mechanical formulations. We perform quantization collective obtain expressions for coupling with external probes moving arbitrary trajectories. study case parallel channel axis derive probabilities single multiple plasmon excitation average energy loss. A correspondence quantum pictures shown. scaling properties terms are studied general functions obtained, which may be applied wide range particle velocities sizes, including microcapillaries nanotubes.
