摘要: Abstract Purpose Conceptual frameworks (CF) have historically been used to develop program theory. We re-examine the literature about role of CF in this context, specifically how they can be create descriptive and prescriptive theories, as building blocks for a Using case example colorectal cancer screening intervention development, we describe process developing our initial CF, methods explore constructs framework revise development. Methods present seven steps that guided development CF: (1) assemble “right” research team, (2) incorporate existing into emerging (3) construct conceptual framework, (4) diagram (5) operationalize framework: design measures, (6) conduct research, (7) framework. Results A revised depicted more complicated inter-relationships different predisposing, enabling, reinforcing, system-based factors. The updated led us generate theory serves basis designing future studies outcome evaluations. Conclusions build foundation provide set concrete lessons learned assist practitioners CF.
