摘要: The negative effects of roads on wildlife in tropical rainforests are poorly understood. Road construction has high priority Africa, while impacts movement often neglected. This study aims at providing information the crossing behaviour rainforest wildlife. probability that would cross forest was analysed for association with ten different factors were linked to road presence or construction. Factors divided into three classes: vegetation cover, topography and human influence. A trackplot survey done southern Cameroon, Africa. Trackplots laid along a 32 km unpaved logging intersects Campo-Ma’an National Park. Tracks several species found frequently (e.g. genets porcupines); others only sporadically duikers apes). actual physical obstacles logs, banks, etc.) highly negatively correlated probabilities. For all cover positively probability. indicates have large impact wildlife, suggests which could be altered during maintenance order mitigate these impacts.
