Effects of temperature on metal tolerance and the accumulation of Zn and Pb by metal‐tolerant fungi isolated from urban runoff treatment wetlands

摘要: Aims: To investigate the ability of two fungi to accumulate Zn and Pb, effect temperature on their metal tolerance possible mechanisms involved in accumulation. Methods results: Beauveria bassiana Rhodotorula mucilaginosa isolated from constructed wetlands receiving urban runoff were grown modified glycerol asparagine medium containing elevated levels Pb at 30°C. accumulated up 0·64% available 8·44% Pb. The corresponding values for R. 2·05% 16·55% Radial growth colonies 4° 30°C agar or indicated that was not seriously affected by a decrease temperature. Transmission electron microscopy emission dispersion x-ray spectrophotometry suggested mechanism resistance B. may be associated with precipitation (possibly form oxalates). Conclusion: processes biosorption could potentially occur throughout year both living dead cells able metals. Significance Impact Study: Identified an important removal wetland substrates serving as long-term storage sinks.
