摘要: The Roma people, living throughout Europe and West Asia, are a diverse population linked by the Romani language culture. Previous linguistic genetic studies have suggested that migrated into from South Asia about 1,000–1,500 years ago. Genetic inferences history mostly focused on Y chromosome mitochondrial DNA. To explore what additional information can be learned genome-wide data, we analyzed data six groups genotyped at hundreds of thousands single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). We estimate harbor 80% Eurasian ancestry–derived combination European Asian sources–and date admixture ancestry was 850 before present. provide evidence for Eastern being major source ancestry, North-west India in Roma. By computing allele sharing as measure linkage disequilibrium, migration out Indian subcontinent accompanied severe founder event, which appears to been followed demographic expansion after arrival Europe.
