摘要: Between 1977 and 1980, 1442 pregnant women in Thies, Senegal, were tested for serologic markers of hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. Of these, 9.8% HB s Ag(+), 59.9% anti-HB (+), 15.6% had c alone. 116 Ag(+) women, only 19.8% a much lower proportion infectious carriers than seen Asian populations. Cord blood from 1353 babies was Ag(−), implying that the not infected prior to birth. Four hundred sixty-two babies, including 88 born mothers, observed 2 weeks 38 months after In contrast observations Asia, none became within first year life; all three developed chronic infections (i.e., ≥6 months. second life, six 34 Ag(−)/anti-HB (−) mothers with HBV, four infections. During 3 years occurred at higher rate infants (17%) Ag(−) (4%) women. The latter group included 4.0% those (+) 4.6% 3.2% uninfected These indicate HBV Senegal usually do occur perinatally, but high incidence later infancy childhood. Such can be prevented by use vaccine alone; administration immune globulin should needed.
