摘要: Cellular responses to oxygen fluctuations are largely mediated by hypoxia-inducible factors (HIFs). Upon inhalation, the first organ inspired comes into contact with is lungs, but understanding of pulmonary HIF oxygen-sensing pathway still limited. In this review we will focus on role HIF1α and HIF2α isoforms in lung insufficiency. particular, discuss novel findings regarding their biology smooth muscle cells endothelial context hypoxia-induced vasoconstriction. Moreover, also recent studies HIF-dependent airway epithelium, which have been even less studied than vascular lungs. summary, biological functions executed HIF1 or HIF2 vessels epithelium control as well pathological consequences hypoxic lung.
