摘要: Evidence supporting the application of Brown's (1991, 1993) conception behavioural addiction to computing behaviour is presented. Questionnaire items tapping criteria were factor-analysed along with others, including computer apathy-engagement and anxiety-comfort Charlton Birkett (1995). Items relating some (tolerance, euphoria, cognitive salience) found be complex, an Addiction factor loading upon them but Engagement more highly. other (conflict, withdrawal, salience, relapse reinstatement) shown pure, only highly them. It concluded that can applied computer-related behaviour, although relationship milder facets addiction, which are also merely indicative high engagement, addictions non-unique. classifying individuals as exhibiting pathological use using checklists based adaptations DSM for gambling likely overestimate number people addicted activities.
