Development of a current-mode ASIC for MRPC detectors

摘要: A fully current-mode front-end ASIC, named CAD has been developed for MRPC detectors TOF applications. It consists of a current mirror preamplifier and discriminator each channel. Current mode circuits can easily achieve high bandwidth are suitable low power supply design. simplified circuit model introduced to analyze the timing performance discriminator. 20 ps time jitter be achieved 40 fC input signal by simulation. The dramatically decreases as amplitude increases. 4-channel prototype ASIC also designed fabricated in 0.35 μm CMOS technology. chip evaluated with detector. total 184 measured.
