摘要: The subject invention concerns materials and methods for providing genetically-engineered resistance in plants to tomato yellow leaf curl geminivirus using a truncated version of the replication associated protein (Rep) gene TYLCV. Virus-resistant produced according present have horticulturally acceptable phenotypic traits. Methods comprise transforming plant with polynucleotide wherein when is expressed plant, transformed exhibits viral infections. An exemplified embodiment utilizes comprising Rep derived from Florida isolate TYLCV-Is. can be used provide TYLCV infection such as tobacco. also transgenic tissue that express TYLCV$i(.)
